I'm hoping someone remembers the for sale ad here ten years ago with an E23 BMW wagon; he was selling off a yard full of stuff but wouldn't put a price on anything. I saved the picture in my photobucket and we all know how that went. Hopefully someone else has the picture saved as well?
I guess that was coachbuilt, right? I never seen an e23 wagon before.
I don't remember one on this forum. There was a guy on the mye28.com forum many years who had one but he disappeared off the board. I assume you know it was never a factory option, the few that were built were by aftermarket companies.
Yeah, it was a coach built. He said it was factory and he had two but one was decidedly worse than the other. It was one of those guys who had thirty unuseable cars in his yard and I think came here to sell stuff. I can't remember the name

One of the ads indicated the cars were in North Carolina. He gave his name as Alonzo Graham Taylor III.
A bit of searching finds an Al G Taylor III in Whitaker, NC 27891. Found a phone number - no idea if its good. 1-252-757-1766

That's Reverend Al Taylor, a legend in the vintage BMW world. I haven't seen his name mentioned in years, but he was quite well-known. A quick search turns up a few pics of him racing in Lemons as recently as 2018.
I went back and forth with him, I wanted it but he just quit responding. I saw a picture Friday of one and it brought it back to mind. I have to many projects so I'm probably not a buyer if it still exists but I wanted to save the pictures.
edit: I have MY emails to him but his with the pictures are gone.
