I've been working on a VTEC mini project for a while with a friend. It seems we rarely have time to work on it. To make matters worse, he is an hour away.

I've been autocrossing our daily drivers, either a 02 wrx wagon or a 2000 subie 2.5rs. I enjoy driving them. I just have no desire to anything more than autox with them, for fear of hammering them into a wall or whatever at a faster venue. The mini was intended for that type of duty.

So a different buddy is selling me his 99 2.5rs, for super cheap. Like I could buy almost buy 3 of them under the challenge budget. It was rear ended, and he went forward in the accident, taking out a headlight. Alignment is still, good, car still runs good, has coilovers and a bunch of other fun stuff. Salvage title. It's just a bit ugly is all. Only needs a headlight and corner marker light to be made inspect-able. Overall in better running condition than my daily driver 2000 rs. Just cosmetically flawed. The thought is this can be my track/hillclimb/rallyx beater. Will this be a distraction, or can two race cars live in the same house hold....even though one isn't finished? I mean it was too good of deal to pass up, right? If nothing else it gives me a spare car to run around in, if I must take any of the daily drivers down for repair. You can never have too many right? I still have plenty of room in my driveway.

In my experience the more vehicles I have the poorer the state they all end up in is. I can only supply so much time and money so the "favorite" or the one I need for the upcoming event is the only one that gets attention. The rest atrophy until something goes wrong.

Should I add another car?

I'm sorry, I don't understand the question!

Well I am in the Unique position of only being allowed ONE car. SO other than envy at having more than one car I can offer no support. Sorry.

I think you should get it, but then again I don't have to look after it...

It's a done deal. I'm getting it. Just need to ease my feelings of guilt. Should be saving for my kids college fund....but he's got seventeen and a half more years to save up.
