For some reason ebay wanted to inform me about tires "I might be interested in."

I don't currently need tires, but hey, let's see what brands they have:

Rolling Big Power (RBP) "Repulsor"

Radar "Dimax"

Federal "Couragia"

Vercelli "Strada"

Lexani "Lx-Twenty"

Lionheart (my personal favorite)

Accelera "Iota"

Delinte "Thunder"

Milestar

Triangle

Americus

Jinyu "GalloPro"

Atturo "Trail Blade"

Solar

Ironman

Westlake

Yeah, I know some of these are boutique brands of major manufacturers, but I think more of them are just Chinese knockoffs and such. EIther way, the names are so much win.

At my last job, a repair shop, a car came in for an oil change wearing these:

The PO of the CRX of DooM had these installed:

Obviously, these are all Chinese tires.

But yeah, the names are hilarious.

My first car came with Wynstar Phasers. My BMW now wears the Sailun Atrezzo. Who wants big name tires?

The scary thing is that I've owned cars with most of those tire brands. I would usually swap them out for something more reputable if I was keeping the car. One of my friends has a car with Lionheart tires on the front, and man those are the worst tires I've ever driven. They make a terrifying amount of road noise and they go side to side a scary amount, like it's actually a challenge to keep the car straight with them. Thankfully he's getting rid of them soon.

Triangle tires are the clear winner.

"Aw man, my new tires ride like crap. I've got serious buyer's remorse."

"Oh yeah? What kinda did you get?"

"I got Triangle tires."

"Triangle tires ride like crap? No E36 M3..."

I think my favorite are Linglong tires, which sounds like a racial slur for an Asian person.

Rolling Big Power "Repulsor." I'm sure there is a giant fighting robot with that name.

You missed Sunny.  Last I checked they were sub $100 for a 255/35/22.

I got a pair of V rated 165/45/17 Economist ATR-K tires for $84 shipped to try for drag front runners.

Well the names got me to look at the tires. The Atturo Trail Blade looks like it could be good in the mud:

The Federal Couragia is also a toothy MT:

I'm disappointed that Americus tires doesn't make even one tire with American flag-shaped treads though. They don't even have eagles stamped into the sidewalls sad

Edit: The Rolling Big Power Repulsor is also an MT. Disappointing lack of  mecha theming:

I'm really tempted to try the Federal rally tires on the rear of the XR4Ti- it eats rear tires so the price is tempting, and I could keep running actual name brand stuff up front since the front tires last 3+ rallies.  I haven't found any real reviews of them though.

My first car had Cheng Shin tires IIRC- they were $25 each and made handbrake turns a lot easier cheeky

Amateur drifters usually run EPS tires in the front and these weird-name cheapos in the rear.

My first car, a '00 T/A, had used and mismatched tires on all four corners.

I think I'd still rock that over these knockoffs.

I ran these bad boys on my Lancer ES for about a yr before I sold it, they did perfectly fine for dd duty and did improve the handling on the car, but I also swapped to 14x6 ltw alloys over the 14x5.5 steelies as well as going from 65 to 60 series tires at the same time.   They were almost as cheap as some Bontrager tires I purchased some years ago for a road bikesurprise.

My opinion, it's fine to run some cheapo tires especially on a car/truck you don't plan to keep that long or expect high expectations from running said cheapo tires.  For something you plan on keeping and want to improve ride/handling and tire wear then stick to the popular brands.  I think one of the big differences with some of these tires is you may not get the best wear or mileage/use out of the real cheap 'silly' name brands.

No, it's got to be a Ministry reference.

Used to hate when people would come in and ask us to order that crap when I worked at Firestone. The roads around there were covered in potholes and the knock offs just dont seem to handle impact damage like the name brands. People would come back 4 weeks later with a tennis ball sized bubble claiming the tire was defective. No sir, it was cheap. Subtle but important difference

I went to the SEMA show in 2016, and there was just about an entire hall full of tires I'd never heard of.  In retrospect, it's not surprising, but I was amazed at the time.
