So, my girlfriend and I got our Miata in October 2008. It needed shocks, as do most older Miatas, but was perfectly drivable as-is, so we let that go for a while due to budgetary issues. But some research led me to the Koni STR.T as the most cost effective performance shock for our needs.
Along comes May 2010. After the last autocross, we got to discussing the slightly floaty handling the car had in a certain section of the course. I said that fresh shocks would likely help. And Konis are on sale from Tire Rack. She said we should get them now. I said OK, and here they are, just waiting for me to set a day aside to install them. Yay.
Tonight, I happened to glance past the GRM calendar on the fridge. I noticed that the ad for this month is for Koni shocks, with the STR.T at the top of the various models pictured down the right side. Was our decision to buy Konis now our own freewill? Or were we subtly influenced by this ad staring us in the face every day this month?
