I bought an '05 Civic Coupe for daily/winter beater use and I'm thinking that I will autocross the Mustang and run the Civic in the local Rally Cross series. Anybody tried this setup? I would put some skid plates on and get some gravel tires, I've got plenty of extra rims lying around. Something I could drive to the track and then (hopefully) drive it home. Not the best chassis I know but it's light and the hand brake works.
My other idea is to sell it and look for a decent GC series Impreza. But since I've got the Civic sorted I thought I would hang onto it and give it a go.
Thanks
Glenn
We had one run a few events last year. Don't recall how it did, but we have very few FWD in our local classes so not much to compare it to anyhow. I know it drove home though. And I know it was waaaaayyyy too quiet, lol....

The Civic's that I have seen have done very well in FWD classes.
Thanks for the input, I'm already checking the local site for gravel tires...
Weigh reduction would do wonders, but it depends on how fare you would want to go. Otherwise, I think it would be a great setup.
While looking for gravel tires I found an '03 Mits Lancer, FWD, for sale. It already has skid plates, rally lights and possibly gravel tires. I contacted the seller, just waiting to see the mileage. It looks to be in good shape, I'll keep you posted.

The Mitsu wouldn't be a bad platform either. It has less aftermarket support however the CARS Production 2wd championship was won with a Lancer just a couple of years ago.
