Enable me; I want to be a better race fan

Putting aside NASCAR, which no longer interests me, and GRM (already a subscriber), I want to follow racing more closely. What should I subscribe to (electronic or print) or which forums should I join, to do so?

I follow, as best I can, Continental Tire Challenge, Pirelli World Challenge, Grand Am/ALMS, DTM, Australian V8 Supercars, FIA GT1, BTTC, and FIA endurance. TV coverage is iffy and often broadcast over the winter after the season has ended.

Where can I go to find out, for example, that Driver A has been released from his contract and will not be racing for ACME Co. in Grand Am next season? Or that Team X is switching classes and will run in GT next year? Or that there are races on webcast I really should try to watch?

SRSLY, I will pay money for subscriptions. A little help?

I've followed http://www.autosport.com/ for a bit, they tend to cover the ladder towards F1, some nascar, some WRC, some DTM, and a sporadic bit of others. Also their nostalgia forum is about the most knowledgeable you could ever imagine, lots of people with some past hands on F1 experience and such.

I definitely would like to keep up on BTCC.

But streaming video on satellite internet would eat up my monthly bandwidth pretty quick I think. berk.

I have been catching the FIA GT series on some random TV channel every now and then while surfing around and would like to know more. The problem is I can not find any good reliable coverage of it.

If you like motorcycle racing (and you should) then motomatters.com should be at the top of your list. Best most up to date stuff on motoGP and WSB. Sadly, the season just ended so I have to suffer through four months of sadness. The bright spot is that Dakar is coming and the nutjobs on ADVrider will have the best coverage in the world in a thread in the racing section. They have guys following the race and doing nightly podcasts from the bivouac, links to all coverage and more information than you can stand. Bike centric, but cars and the big trucks too. I like driving cars, bit I like watching bikes.

I use planetf1.com and espnf1.com for Formula 1 news and racer.com for other things. Twitter is a good resource as well.

I also comb through the tv guide every weekend and set any racing aside from NASCAR to record unless they're on a road course. The main three channels I see things on are Fox Sports 1, NbcSports and Velocity. That covers sittings of F1, Pirelli Challenge, Continental Tire series, FIA gt, European Rally championship and WRC. The main gripe is that aside from F1 the airings are so random its hard to know when they will be on.

A lot of racing series stream races online but I havent had the patience to sort out all that stuff.

Aussie Supercar has a paid subscription service for all of their races.

Racer.com has a wide variety but the quality is not the best.

Motorsports.com also covers the sports car series.

Download the Radio Le Mans "Midweek Motorsport" podcasts. You'll have more knowledge than you need in just a few short weeks.

There is a great private torrent site for all the racing you would want to watch, F1/DTM/BTCC/WRC etc.

Unfortunately, I need to make a hefty donation before I get any more invites. So if 1 or more people wanted to cover the donation large enough to get the invites, we could do that.

Sper- since you are here, and I'm thinking of it- your radio show is way better since the recent "departure". Turns out I stopped listening because I didn't like "he who recently left". Didn't realize it until he wasn't there anymore!

Back on track, I'm following with interest as the internet is the only resource I have that hasn't been overtaken by my childrens. I can catch up on stuff while they watch their toons.
