I get 27mpg in my M3, but I'm not sure it's especially relevant to 325ix fuel mileage.
Have you considered an E46 wagon? They're way better than an X3....
You were involved with my I'm tall conversation weren't you.....
Did you ever buy this?
I'd enable somebody to buy this one (not affiliated, etc)

lots of stuff is iX specific. even things that are not obvious.
In reply to Brett_Murphy:
Yes I did. Once I can get my Si sold I will be posting more on the car including pictures. Anyone want to buy an 08 Si? ![](/media/img/icons/smilies/laugh-18.png)
Well, bought it & now I don't want it. Selling the Si proved to be too much hassle & I honestly don't want to work on this & the Starion. One pic of the E30 which is now up for sale.

Anything wrong with it? Rust?
The previous owner went through and did a lot of work, I haven't had a chance to go through it well enough. I know it needs A/C work (compressor, condenser, etc), front sway bar reinstalled, alignment, coolant sensor (engine light/coolant light on after highway driving), blower motor resistor (have it), moonroof shade put back in. Rust that I have come across, a bit on the lower edge of the trunk lid below the spoiler. I haven't been underneath it. Trunk's full of parts too, stock, aftermarket, haven't gone through it all.
sorry it did not tickle your funny bone.. and I am sorry I do not have the funds to make you an offer right now. I would love me an ix

Where are you located?
His screen name is a hint? ![](/media/img/icons/smilies/wink-18.png)
(Quincy, MA - click on anyone's avatar and you should get a snap-shot of their profile & location).

Can't blame him for asking, there's many times when people click on a profile & nothing shows.
But yes, I'm in Quincy, MA. In the next few days I'm going to go through what the car needs, has, etc.
I might be mildly interested if the car doesn't need much work mechanically and is in good condition rust-wise. Only issue is that it would require shipping cross country and that probably puts a little crimp on the price I could pay.
I paid $3,000 for the car off a co-worker & would sell it for that to a GRM member. If it goes on CL it'll be higher, just to see what I can get. The car is currently registered & on the road. I am waiting on the title since I only registered it 11 days ago.

I know. Hence the "
". I wouldn't expect the average NW resident to "get" the meaning of your screen name.
$3000 seems likea good price. Rare car. I toyed with the idea of one as a DD until I realized the 325i isn't the most fuel efficient motor ever made (I get in the low 20's with my E30).
Alright, she is up for sale $3,000 for any GRM member. Pictures in the link below, if you would like additional pictures let me know however it's supposed to be soaking rain the next 2 days.

The car 1988 BMW 325ix. 201,052 miles & of course the odometer quit last night (4/19/12) so factor in maybe another 50 - 60 miles on top of that. Fairly rust free, a bit of the lower edge of the trunk, some underneath, but overall not nearly as bad as other cars in New England. It runs & drives fairly well, especially on the highway considering the age & it need some work. Clutch feels great too. Borla muffler & H&R spring IIRC from the previous owner. Fog lamps just need to be grounded, everything connected but that. Has projector lamps in it too.
List of what it needs:
Valve adjustment, maybe shims
Left front wheel bearing (possibly)
Front sway bar installed
A/C compressor/condensor, etc. Most removed from the car
Coolant sensor, light comes on & engine light flashes at higher rpms when warm
Some front suspension/steering work. Is a bit wonky/clunky now & changes alignment with bumps.![](/media/img/icons/smilies/whatthe-18.png)

I am pretty sure the front wheel bearings on the IX are different from the ones on an E30. Something is telling me it uses the same in the front as in the rear... hmmm.
$3k is a reasonable price for this. The 1988s came with the sport interior, as you can see. Later models got the regular E30 interior.
yummm...with red sport seats in reasonable shape.

Somewhere along the line someone absconded with the three spoke sport steering wheel and left a standard four spoke wheel in its place. On the plus side, they also put a nice looking exhaust header on the engine. ![](/media/img/icons/smilies/grin-18.png)
Looks like a decent car for the price, good luck with the sale.
I just found this again. If I hadn't sworn off of E30s, I might be interested.
That said, I have a three spoke wheel in my garage that needs a car to go with.
Still have this for sale?
Forgot about this. The car was actually sold on Memorial Day to a guy with intents to build it up for ice racing. However, I spoke with him last week & a crack was discovered in the sub-frame. No word on how bad it was & what the future holds for it now. I felt like an ass for not knowing about it, prior owner didn't either.
