Part of me thinks that Ferrari may have had a hand in the lack of PDK in the Viper to keep it from stepping on more expensive toes. Also Even VW has yet to build a dual clutch that will hold up to the toque of a viper. They are still running a single clutch in the Aventador due to the high torque issues.wearymicrobe wrote: Put the airbags in it and put a PDK transmission and go out and drop another 1-1.5 seconds off a LS lap with it and they would sell as many as Chevy does Z06's.Ralph Gilles has said that the Viper will never have anything than an honest-to-god 3-pedal manual transmission. He says that is what the makes the Viper the one of the last true driver's cars.
I think they are about the same in total number but the delivery of it is the issue. Again I only spoke with one of the Dodge guys for a short time at a track event. Personally I don't think dodge has the money to spend to develop and certify it. Its not a engineering exercise, I mean Ferrari does it with a dual wet clutch on the 488.
