My kids Honda is a three cylinder now. Any of you hoarders have a spare 2.3 laying around. West Michigan, Detroit, Chicago area is within my reach.
A crusty fouled plug and an oil soaked cylinder is causing firing issues, may also not have compression. Still a nice car with 117k on the odo, I should just fix it.

The F23A engines are pretty common. In case you don't find anyone with the engine here on grassrootsmotorsports, so you might have some luck checking local junkyards, Facebook Marketplace, or Car-Part.com. You'll surely find one at these places.
I was going to encourage you to do more diag work on the motor but with that engines oil burning and history of overheating and the scale in the cooling system maybe not... but it might just be a bad plug. The oil burning will cause buildup on the plug over time fouling it. Did you try swapping or cleaning the plug?
Compression went from 115 to 15 last week. I think it has a past of overheating and cooked rings, snake oil is getting applied today.
So far my local junk yards tell me that they threw them all away years ago because no one needed them.
Seriously, do check out car-part.com. It's a salvage yard search engine. I just did a quick search with Cleveland as my ZIP and aside from one local yard that seems to scrap absolutely nothing (and charges accordingly) the nearest ones are in Detroit and Grand Rapids. 'Course, according to the map, Warren is 90 miles away, because the math assumes I can just drive straight across the lake
The fun part about having a 30 year old car that generally rusted away after 7-10 years is that sometimes you gotta drive 200+ miles to buy parts, or take a crapshoot with yards that sell on eBay Motors.
I don't blame the yards for scrapping them all. The last time I saw any Honda with a timing belt four cylinder was a recent transplant from Florida... and the time before that was a couple years earlier when an enthusiast bought a 1st gen Integra hatch from SC and had us go through it.
I'm heading to Detroit next friday, there is an engine with 114k miles on it. I'll be getting that unless I find one locally on monday when the yards open up.
My local u pull it has one foe $289 but I have to pull it my self and it doesn't look that great.

Good call, found one just south of the Mi border for $350, they have a few. Most places said they scrapped anything over ten years old.
