Technically, that diff has in fact been welded. Technically correct is the best kind of correct.

OK so how much does an actual LSD for the car cost, eat some Bologna sandwiches and buy the real thing......because locked diffs in road / road racing cars are an abomination

I remember in the early days when ice racing as 99% SAAB, some guys tried making a viscous differential. They welded/brazed covers over the openings. Then filled it with some sort of fluid. Not sure what. Never heard any results.
