I'm getting a check engine light followed shortly (within 1 day usually) by the "service high voltage charging system" message on my 2013 chevy volt. I can clear the engine light and message and that will allow the car to charge again. The battery coolant is not low. I have discovered that if you clear the engine light and drive at about 10mph or less the light and message don't come on. As soon as you go faster the light will immediately come back. Could this some how be related to a bad wheel speed sensor? All help is appreciated.
When you pull codes, what does it say? That light means there's a stored code.

I actually get a no codes found message when I hook up my scanner. I have been clearing the light so that I can charge the car but have been thinking about letting it go for a few days to see if a code is set.
If there's a light there's a code but, you might not be able to see it with a generic scanner
Swing by a GM dealer, they should be able to read the code for you.
A lot of codes require a certain operating condition to trigger. Some require multiple drive cycles, some require a certain engine temp, this one may require a certain road speed before it can tell if there's a problem. I wouldn't blame the wheel speed sensors until I had a description of exactly what triggers the light.
My money would be on a bad cell or cells in the pack. Driving slow you don't draw much current, go faster and a bad pack might not be able to deliver the amps.

You'll need access to a GM Candi module scanner to figure anything out unfortunately. The dealer and any decent Indy shop should be able to pull what's up.
