How in the world is that not rolled up into a ball yet?
It's rough. Badly fiberglassed over rockers, rust in the window channels, dents and dings, headliner falling down and non stock seats so I don't even fit in it right now
It is pure simplicity, nothing that doesn't need to be there is. Except the modifications someone did. I doubt the alarm is necessary, and the fog lights? I wonder if it can generate enough power to run them. The wheels are italian market Eta Betas that are gross and all wrong for it.
OMG that engine hatch!
Look at all those horsepowers!
been sitting a long time
The keen eye will notice all the controls on the dash. A hazard switch, light switch and the rubber bulb windshield washer squirter. You might be more familiar with it as the primer on a lawn mower. Colin Chapman would be proud of the simplicity at work here.
Negotiations have begun.

Guys. I can help with stuff like this. Go to Hasznaltauto.hu and find a Polski Fiat like this one: http://www.hasznaltauto.hu/auto/polski_fiat/126/polski_fiat_126_650_p-9519627
Near Papa Hungary and I'll send the boots on the ground to get it. From there it's just a matter of shipping.
(The price of the car pictured is under $1000)

I believe I saw a wheeled dealer episode where they swapped this beast of an engine into a Mini as it was a power upgrade
Jumper K. Balls wrote: angriest sounding lawn implement I have heard https://www.youtube.com/embed/BoJq-XfbtpU I am sure the carb only has 22mm venturis installed. DCOE 40's were factory installed on 1.3 and 1.6 liter Alfas so 1 carb for 650cc is about right.
That's not running right for a DCOE. The injector pump isn't working and the idle is way high. I have a 45 DCOE on a 1275 Sprite and the throttle response is instantaneous from the lumpy 900 rpm idle.
(Note kooky throttle linkage w/ toothed belt and pulleys rather than the usual bellcranks. I hate bellcranks.)

Because any crash takes place at just over walking pace? That was a hilarious video.

Watching that video, I can hear the computer voice saying "But I drive flat out" from this video https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=b7iUKaPlBl8

How much do you figure for RORO to anywhere on the east coast? I've got a friend who keeps eyeballing bringing in something cheap and weird.
This part of the listing made me smile:
Amenities: Manual (four-speed) transmission.

Last quote I got was for $1800 + customs for RORO from Germany to Seattle. East coast probably around $1000.
Here are all the import eligible cars Under $1000 In the immediate area
(you just missed a sweet 4-door Zastava)

This is $657.
In reply to Hungary Bill:
Well. That was an exciting way to spend my lunch break.
Anybody want to buy a Scirocco?!
In reply to Hungary Bill:
There ought to be enough interest here to fill the whole damn ship & split costs!
Maybe the $2017 Challenge will all be eastern-block cars...but you have to bring a pair.

Would love to drive the wife's smart fortwo that way but the electronic nannies won't let the back end come out like that. That was cool.

Hmmm.. Four door Pinto-engined Sierra for megacheap.
I'm still thinking. $1800 to drop on US soil?
A challenge full of Trabants, Ladas, and Polskis? That would be EPIC (not sure if epic awesome, or epic awful, but epic none the less)
I bet we can get six cars if we go "split level" like the Japanese engine importers do. 6-cars at $8600 (that's what it cost to get my last container here) doesn't save us much money though Of course the $1800 RORO hasn't taken into consideration customs inspections and holds and greased palms, etc.
I once got a quote from EK auto for $2000 container shipping from Budapest to New York City, or Florida...

I'm glad I'm not the only one....

Sierras? Maybe 4. Fiat 126s? like thirty.
EDIT: Found mine
