What would that hurt? It isn't a qualifying motor that only lasts a few lapse this is a few shims and adjustment built into the car.
The dry, rain and wet tires have different diameter for just this reason. While this helps with ride height it does introduce another issue in that it alters the aero balance. Even if they were allowed to mess with ride height I very much doubt they would as it would take too long to get the corner balance right if they started adjusting spring heights.

I'll quit my day job and be his personal valet for just 1% of that, on call 24/7/365 if he needs me.
That is too much money for a guy that has mostly driven THE car. Need to see him at which ever team he is going to and see if he can make a good car great.
For this weekend. I am a bit excited to see footage of the Sochi track and I hope it proves to provide some good racing. I am not a fan of the new tilke tracks but his turn 8 at the Turkey circuit was pretty darn cool. We will see.

I can't find anything on it since before Horner announced Seb was off to Ferrari. I think someone is having fun at McLaren's expense. There has been every rumor possible about them in the last few weeks. Naming just about every driver going there for sure next year or the year after. Rumors that Mansor Ojjeh (spelling??) and the board are replacing Ron Dennis with Gerhard Berber. That the Canadian guy Stoll who was going to buy Sauber will actually buy McLaren etc etc. It seems if you can make up an F1 rumor you add McLaren in the mix this week.
Horner is simply stating his opinion, I believe. The interviews with him from the BBC last week basically said "it has to be Ferrari, there's nobody else". Still, he's got a much better view of the whole thing than we do.
Marussia may run just one car this weekend
Translation. We're waiting to see if Alexander Rossi's check clears before we decide.
Horner did not say it was Ferrari, and the source article at the top of the page is unsubstantiated. All the clues are there, read Vettel's announcement. The crazy rumor is Alonso/Vettel at McLaren...

Yes Horner did say it was Ferrari. The Alonso/Vettel dream team rumor came out before the announcement that Vettel was leaving Red Bull and Horner saying he was going to Ferrari, hence I give the latter far more credence than the former.

He won a race in a torro rosso. Pretty good, right?
True, and that was a great drive, but. . . for a guy that Adrian Newey says has the unique ability to adapt his driving style quickly to the peculiarities of new car designs (he said that a couple of years ago), Vettel has certainly not adapted well this year, getting smoked most of the time by Ricciardo, or staying even at best. Ferrari's successes in the late 90s/early 2000s were as much due to Rory Byrne, Ross Brawn and Jean Todt's organization skills as to Schumi's driving. Even the best driver can't make up for a mediocre design (see Alonso), so I'll be very interested to see what happens in Vettel's future. I think Newey's withdrawal from principal designer has a lot to do with Vettel's decision.

Yep, the same season he also plowed into the back of Mark Webber under a Safety Car period.

He was young, young drivers make mistakes like that. He crashed into Button in Spa as well, but those mistakes are pretty much a thing of the past at this point.
Most people take the position that the really good drivers are the ones that shine in the rain. Vettel definitely does that -- his win in the STR at Monza was a very rainy day, and while Ricciardo has been faster than him at most tracks this year, in the rain at Suzuka the positions were reversed.

2007 vs 2008 but E36 M3 happens.

This just in:
Vettel is going to McLaren but McLaren is being bought by Ferrari. Thus, Honda has switched to fully purchase Caterham and partner with Haas with Kamui Kobayashi and Takuma Sato as the driver line up! Meanwhile Hamilton has decided to take a sabbatical and record an R&B album with Kimi and Ron Dennis!

Yes that was a great AND lucky drive for Vettel. All drivers need some luck to make it all come together. Alonso and Hamilton included. Never saying he is some slouch, he trounced Bourdais and Webber but now he has to prove it was Vettel and not another set of wins by Adrian Newey over the past 4 years. He had to leave Red Bull I guess to prove himself. Still a lot of $$$ for a guy that drove for one team at their height. Like M Schumacher going to Mercedes we will see.

Marussia IS running only one car this weekend out of respect for Jules and his family......

Yeah I saw that and actually believe it as well. I assume that Rossi will be in from Austin on as he'll be an American in the American round.

No disrespect to the family, but they should run two cars or no cars, they are at a huge disadvantage running one.

Sarcasm engaged..
Yup because that race for 18th place is crucial!
Sarcasm disengaged..
Seriously, I actually love the back of the pack teams and root for them more than I do the red purse gang

Actually in the team standings it is a big deal, because money is involved. I don't believe that Catheram can put a point on the board but Sauber could. If Sauber scores 2 points, then FIA will look at finishing spots for the year. Millions of dollars are on the line, which Marussia and Sauber need.
I always "root" for the underdog teams....I understand where they are coming from....My Karting team is VERRRY low budget, and we must make do with parts/pieces that other teams simply discard. I am always thrilled when one of the lower budget teams do well. Those folks really work their tails off to do what we all love to do and be a part of. I think I may have been one of Minardi's biggest fans back in the day........
