I've searched the honda-tech.com forum and can't seem to come up with a definitive answer to a couple questions I am sure someone has asked before. Does anyone know if the f23 head will fit and work on the f22 accord bottom end with no or minor modification? What mods would it need? Will the f22 distributor work in the f23 head? Just trying to use what I've got at home. Thanks,
Mid
You can bolt any F or H series head to that block. (Barring of course the F-series in the S2000).
The F22 dizzy i think will fit IN the head, but i don't know that the electronics are compatible, if there were any changes.
The only reason why i know that tidbit is because when converting Toyota S-series motors to run using a chipped OBD1 honda ECU we have to look for an F23 dizzy, for some reason, the F22 will not work.
Thanks 93celicaGT2. The dizzy is going to be as expensive as the head was, so it's back to junkyard trawling for me.
I'd try it first, worst case scenario it doesn't start.
Which electronics are you going to use? F22 or F23? That's the main issue i would imagine.
Post up exactly what you're trying to do.... what chassis, block, head, and electronics/ecu and i should be able to get you an answer today or at least by tomorrow morning.
Hell, i may even have the right dizzy for what you're trying to do. I have a Honda junkyard in my garage.
Thanks 93celicaGT2. I've got a 1995 Non-vtec Accord F22b2, with a good dizzy but a warped head, currently sitting in the car. I've also got an great condition F23 head, with no dizzy. Trying to use all or as much of the F22b2 electronics/ecu as I can, but need guidance in this department. Don't know how much I can use, or what switches I need to make. Any help is greatly appreciated.

How bad is the head warped? First thing i would try, honestly, based on what you have is see if you can get the head shaved flat again. Shouldn't cost much. The F23 head might have a different design because of emissions BS. Do you know what year and model the F23 came out of? I'm almost 100% positive there will be no power gain from using the F23 head, so if your F22 head is able to be shaved within spec, i'd do that.

I'm not sure if this will help but it was very interesting reading!

Yep. With an H22a head, people are getting some SERIOUS power out of this setup. The nifty part is that K20 Type S pistons drop in, and people have gotten over 260whp out of the motor, for a relatively cheap price. The torque is ridiculous for a motor that size, and pair that with an H2B transmission setup, and you're SCREAMING.
Wow, I like that idea. Sounds like a couple pennies to put that all together. I'll definitely have the head checked to see if I can get it done within specs. Thanks for the input guys.
