I was searching CL for a cheap pick up and came across this:
What possesses people to put Lambo door kits on an F250?

When you're in a crowded construction site, the doors don't get dinged on the bulldozer.
Silly question ....
not to get all grammer police... but really, do the people who post stuff on CL really not know how to spell?

Half the reason that I stopped browsing Craigslist on a regular basis is that the vast majority of the posters seem to do it from their phones with autocorrect off.
If you write in text speak on a site with an unlimited amount of characters, I'm going to assume that you are too dense and lazy to do basic maintenance. Therefore I have no interest in buying said item. I'm not a grammar Nazi by any stretch of the imagination (there's probably 3 things wrong with my sentence structure in this post) but CL posters could at least try to present the image of a functional offline human being.

I have wondered.. Having never sold anything on CL, I was not sure if your characters were limited or not. I can only surmise that most people who sell on CL are used to texting
Well I guess it saves the owner from having to remember to hang the "Im a moron with absolutely no taste" sign around his neck before he leaves the trailer park in the morning.....

Vast amounts of attention from highly promiscuous women. Same reason young men wear straight brimmed baseball caps sideways. I can not comment on the success rate of either.
Those are some pretty condescending replies I have to say. It's a customized pickup. Sold by an immigrant. What would he think about a Miata with an smallblock? Even if it was built by an english major.

Does it make the truck drive worse or tow less?
I remember when the Alfa Carabo came out with those doors (before Lamborghini) and the idea was that all cars in the future would have them as it made getting in and out in parking lots easier with fewer door dings. Thanks to the aftermarket, we're heading there.

I've got no problem with personal style preferences if you like suicide mounted lambo doors that make the woosh sound from Star Trek, starts fog rolling when they open, and ejects a thousand doves fly out into the sky, well good on you. It isn't my cup of tea but obviously there's a segment of society that likes that sort of thing, that is what makes car culture awesome.
What I have an issue with is, from what I can decipher from the spew on the page, is that he wants to sell a truck, that he very much loves, so he can afford a tow truck. Awesome, entrepreneurial and knows that in order to raise the capital that he needs he'll have to make that sacrifice, however he is representing a fairly unique product. Reselling this type of vehicle isn't exactly like reselling a used 2000 Civic or a Toyota Camry. When you're representing something that amounts to a brand you should at least spell check the post otherwise you're only shooting yourself in the foot because prospective buyers need to decide if it is worth the time and expense to go look at it.
For me the fact that you couldn't even be bothered to enable spell check on a post for the entirety of the internet to see, means that you probably do your oil and filter changes around the time that the manufacturer specifies give or take a couple thousand and maybe do the other preventative maintenance when time allows. I'm 27 and to me it exudes laziness. I've never accepted the excuse that language evolves over time and this is simply the next evolution of it. Despite how someone may feel about being a counter culture rebel at 16, it doesn't pay real well and you'll eventually need to integrate with the rest of society. Not having those basic skills makes that difficult.
What do I know? There's probably several grammatical errors in the above text, but I at least made the effort to weed the obvious ones out so it makes a semblance of sense.
Also I'm done ranting.
There is a reason I do not play grammer nazi, but where did anybody see where this came from somebody who's native language is not english? It's coming from Southeastern Mass.. so I do not know what languages are spoken there aside from a very funny boston accent
I also work with more than a few people new to this country.. most of them try very hard not to sound and write like they just got off of the boat (unless they are speaking in their native language)
I think the seller is just lazy in regards to this truck.. if that is the case, I would have to inspect it very carefully before I even considered buying it (Which I wouldn't as I am not in the market for a truck)

That's pretty much the roundabout point I was trying to get at . I probably should have posted that whole thing in the grammar Nazi thread rather than here. Txtspk simply irritates the bejesus out of me.
To the point at hand. Wouldn't those lambo doors make getting in and out of the truck hard?
I've had the experience of the lambo doors. A buddy of mine has a 90 CRX with the question of "what's not been done to make it faster?" attached and the lambo doors made it a chore getting in and out of the car everytime you sat in it. I like taking the route of watching whats around me before I open the door out and get into the car. Really, why change something that isnt broken and works just fine with something thats not all too practical?

I cringed when I read this- I agree wholeheartedly, but if you are going to castigate someone for their spelling or grammAr, at least spell grammar correctly.
Also, he's buying a tow truck. Last time I checked, forward thinking upwardly mobile entrepreneurs did not identify that business sector as the path to eternal riches.
Poorly educated immigrants however.........

i almost bought a tow truck once.. there's money to be made by helping stupid people out of ditches..
What kind of moron would sink $10k into an '84 Toyota Celica, without spending a dime on paint or anything else to make it look worth a damn, stuff uncomfortable seats that don't recline in it, lower it so much and put springs so stiff you can barely drive it on the street, cut the fenders (badly) to stick 10" wide wheels on it, remove the AC and the stereo - all so he could drive real fast around cones in a parking lot?
Oh, yeah. That was me.
As long as it doesn't have a Manuel transmission, I'm good.
To each his own.
