Link doesn’t work for me, but the page shows this: 1969 AMC Rebel SST for $3000.

I am almost 100% certain there is a live raccoon somewhere in that car. I'm not sure if that's an additional feature or not.

I'm 100% certain there's some form of life in that car. Be it rodent or bacterial.

Also in for the wheel-standing D350 dump truck in Rons post. That right there is even better than the SST. It hauls AND hauls butt.

I agree, but FB Marketplace is a poor substitute in many ways. One thing I don't miss about CL is dealers spamming the same ad over and over. But the search capabilities were MUCH better, especially with third-party tools.

Plus, the limitations. The 944 in the first post is probably listed as a Cayenne because FB doesn't list "944" as a model under "Porsche". When I sold mine a few years back I listed it as a 968 because that was the closest thing they had at the time.

Oh, I didn't say FBM was useful in any way, shape, or form.

But CL hammered the last nail in their own coffin with the $5 fee, which, while I have no qualms paying $5 to sell a car, drove nearly everyone else away at the same time that FB was getting into using buying and selling as another way to market your personal information.

I really thought that was going to be a positive. I thought it would cut down on the aforementioned spamming, but people must have found a way around it or something.

That Datsun Roadster is very tempting and it's close enough to make me very uncomfortable because the last thing that I (or SWMBO!) need is another project car.  I'm gonna back out of this thread now and distract myself with something else for a while.

These marketplaces are just another example of unregulated internet "information" sources.  CL was first and just like everything it got corrupted because the cost of maintaining quality was too much.  FB marketplace was corrupt much sooner, just because FB is corrupt.  They make money for themselves, that is their goal.

But as bad as they are, what are the options?  Before web marketplaces there were weekly paper mags and the newspapers.  It cost a lot more and less people used them.  So finding the used car you wanted was more difficult.

I hate the piss poor filter system on FB, but still use it as a buyer and seller.  As annoying as it can be it is still a pretty good for the money system.  When selling a car I post on both and see who wins.  And yes GRM postings are still the best but not the only way to go.  So keep posting the interesting stuff it is entertaining, but be grateful we have these resources.
