If you want to do a retro inspired car, this is a good look. (design inspiration) I love a car that's flat and wide. (with a short wheelbase, not that 95" is short if you think about it.)

Hey guys, I have a question. I'm planning to do an open wheeled car, and I was wondering if I could use a different type of suspension. I'm not sure how standard McPherson struts are gonna work on it, so I'm thinking of using some sort of a pushrod setup like the X-Bow, Atom, and F1 cars.

Atom:

F1:

Standard suspension? Never seen it on an open wheeled car before though.

I'm not very knowledgeable on the intricacies of different types of suspension, so I'm not sure if either is even possible with an open wheeled car at this price range. Is there a restriction on the suspension type for the 818?

Ganis- interesting design. I can certainly spot the retro feel in the rear, and your snake inspiration is very clear in the front. However, the "fangs" seem a bit too literal, and may come off to some as somewhat tacky, for lack of a better term. Perhaps a more subtle suggestion of fangs will be sufficient to get the point across. Fun design, though.

Here are my three proposals together. The last proposal includes my visual inspirations behind the design. Feel free to critique at will. Thanks.

Hello people! It's been a long but I came back with my almost final design. Here are the revised sketches (it is a targa roadster, I mean that it has only a small removable hard top):

Senger I like very much the first two of your entries. I believe that the last one lacks of the dynamic design of the previous two. Arif, I can see an improvement in your design, I believe that you could do a bit better with the rear but that is just personal taste. I like week 9 winner overally, though some of the details could make a huge difference in the design making it a lot better. That's all I have to say right now, probably Konstantinos (the other team member) will have his final proposal ready soon.

Sure, in my taste, this design much better than week 6-10 winners

are the headlights flip-up a-la porsche 928? that's a neat approach. looks VERY lightweight and easy to build.

great design overall, can't get enough of the rear end of this thing. that is totally my kind of look - I was immediately like "can am!" i think you've also shown some great extra detail in the little things like a hardtop on a carrier and the tarmac rally versions. these are all things that can only help someone see your car as even more of a reality.

I'm really liking those side profile drawings. I'd like to see you develop those more and show some other angles.

To be honest, the isometric drawing I'm not that big on though.

Thanks for the feedback ScottyB. So many cool designs being posted it's truly hard to pick favourites, but was wondering about the progress of your design as it was one of the most interesting imho.

I've increased the rear of the mine, so the design differs a lot. To save money, 2 versions: economic one without windscreen, and the other will have the Elise's Windscreen and windows.

I'll prefer more original than with this lotus windows, but's it's cheaper than with specific window. It's a rough wip .
