@ Speedboy: Geepers that's a big file. You may want to host a low-res version.

Just a reminder to all possible entrants- there's not much time left so be sure to send your official entries to contest@grassrootsmotorsports.com so you have a shot to win.

Good luck to all!

Ok here is mine. I know the picture looks old and the car looks a lot like the Ginetta G12 but I think it is perfect for the 818.

Alright it is a G12 but it sure is awesome!

Well, since everyone is posting their designs, here's mine. It's an actual clay model because I can't draw and ceramics happens to be one of my hobbies. Too bad this clay has very little to do with my usual pottery clay...

If you haven't been following my design blog, go ahead and give it a shot over here on the FFR forum. More pictures and details are in this blog post.

I am a subscriber of Grassroots Motorsport Magazine, and tough I get the magazine a little bit later then the US-citizens, since I live in the cold outpost of Norway (the norther tip of Europe) I just had to enter the competition! For me it has been like discovering my self again. My rendering teqnique is a little rusty, but I think it will be sufficient to show what direction I would like the Factory Five Project 818 to take. Design details worth mentioning is central head lights, front mounted radiator, side mounted intercooler (to get rid of the "interwarmer" effect on the WRX), and some scoops and stuff. This is my take on a modern version of the Porsche 914, with some inspiration from the John Player Special Formula 1-car that Mario Andretti and Ronnie Petterson drove in the 1970`s. It has been very exiting to watc this tread and see all the great enteries, and the competition has been a great inspiration to get back into drawing cars - so I am already a winner in this respect. Good luck to all of you! Best regards Ole-Martin Lundefaret Norway This is the design rendering. The sketch shows what kind of car I would like the 818 to be. The second image is a litle bit of a technical study, to see if the design would be compatible with the chassis, and I like to think it will;)

THIS IS COOL!

oops. yes you`re right. looks like i was listening too many need for speed soundtracks during work.... i think i could name at least one song for each picture - 'losing my favourite game' for the policecar - 'cosmic girl' for the blackbird - 'strange desire' for the lotus race - 'breathe machine' for the topview....... to me this is crucial - like looking at a V8 without hearing the sound = impossible! actually those compositions are part of a storyboard which is supposed to communicate the overall look n feel of my 8I8.

Hi everybody!

I've been following the discussion on this board since the very beginning and I've seen many stunning designs..... Now, after three months of work (mainly in spare time) I can show you the result of my concept study.

Here's my submission to the contest. Let me know what you guys think about it. Hope you like.

Good luck to everyone!

Cheers from Italy.

Hi Yeahmaha, looks cool! I particularly like the top view and the colored rear undertray in the police chase image (haven't seen that before).

I believe that its going to be really difficult to choose a winner. We can see that a lot of people have done great job with their concepts. We shouldn't also forget the fact that a lot of beautiful entries may have not been posted in the forums. I believe that Factory Five should make a slideshow or a gallery with a top50 maybe of the submitions.

I'm curious. Am I missing something in the guidelines or didn't see any renderings but what about Atom like exoskeleton type cars. This type of car saves cost, weight and repair if used as a track car or if damaged. It also speeds build time while reducing overall and build costs. I know there is already the central driving position three seater and the Atom but I am surprised there aren't more renderings leaning in that direction.

I agree. In fact, the more I look at it the more I think this has to be the best design I've seen so far. Love it!
