Looking at the engine listings they have it set up for, it looks like an AOD is the only auto they offer? Not that something else couldn't be made to fit, but I wonder why that is.

This. This doesn't help me, since I don't have a lot of time to build a car from scratch, nor are the exo-cars and the like really sounding like fun as I get older and less able to tolerate the sun in large batches.

True, And I should figure for the cab and bed. I think of it being fairly useless as a practical vehicle and comparing it to more track-focused stuff, but in actual fact it does have a lot of utility. You win 
I visited FFR early this month and I got to see it in pieces 2 days before it was assembled. I mentioned it in my road trip thread. The FFR hot rods have some serious suspension. I can’t remember if they went ‘glass or steel for the truck body, but I think they will be offering both once they start shipping. Steel is a $10k option.
