I have my fans on my 06 subby wagon having issues with not working at times. They can be tested and they work. Then a  couple of days later they do not work again. This comes before and after fixing the O2 issue I posted about last month. I know there is something about grounding issues with this year of Subaru Impreza wagon. I just can not find details that might help fix the bloody issue since I have to start driving the car more than it has been. I have replaced the temp sensor the start with everything and did the thermostat.

Are the wires E36 M3ty? If you bump the blades once it goes dead and it starts spinning, might be a dead spot on the armature. Are there relays involved?

Regarding grounding issues, I recall adding a ground strap to my 95 Legacy between the engine and body and it did cause my voltage to go up to a more appropriate value, and I think it seemed like it idled a bit smoother, too.  I think I just used a somewhat heavy gauge wire, and a couple of crimp connectors to make the grounding wire.  Might be worth doing without any further diagnosis, since it is low risk, low effort.
