Has one used the Federal 595s? I was considering getting these instead of the Dunlop Direzza ZIIs for my Civic. Also any idea where to get them from?

595 (formerly SS-595)

595 RS-R

I think someone posted up something the other day about the 595

Both received a mention in this thread: http://grassrootsmotorsports.com/forum/grm/article-request-200tw-tires-on-track/62782/page1/

I'm going try em out due to the cost and size availability.

You actually want the 595RS-R, not the SS.

Not available in 14" sizes.

Then i'd probably not suggest getting them over the Dunlops.

The reason I am thinking about them is whatever I get will be used on my daily driver for probably at least half a year and then it will be a part time daily driver/ STF car but I figure I won't really be autocrossing much or seriously until next year so I was kinda considering something less aggressive then the Dunlop but there isn't much choice. Also the Federals are $52 a tire versus $129 a tire...

Ah well that makes more sense then. I thought you were truly cross-shopping those with the Dunlops.

The one you want is the 595 Evo but I don't believe they are made in 14's. They are 240 -260 TW rating.

I found ours locally and have seen them on onlinetires.com. Our 15's stood up very well to a Chumpcar race at Sebring and we plan on running the same set at Daytona.

Unfortunately no Evo. I think my only performance choices are the Dunlop Direzza ZII or the Federal 595.
