Was just reading an article about Singer's work on the 917 last night and he was mentioned quite a bit.
I hope someone sat him down and let him tell his life story ,
He went thru a lot and I am sure has lots of stories to tell

At 28 he was put in charge of racing development at Porsche and implemented a policy of purpose-built race cars. The 906 was the first in this series of cars that lead to the 917, arguably one of the best, if not the best race car ever built. Piëch wanted to win races and Porsche allowed him to build the cars to do that. Here's a few Porsches from that golden age of racing:

Unfortunately, the autobio was published in 02' - I hope someone else got the last 17 years because there's a lot to tell!
