All things must come to an end, and Toyota announced the end to the Toyota GR Supra with the 2026 MkV Final Edition. The good news is the MkV Final Edition doesn’t seem to be just a regular Supra with a special color and fancy badges on it. It does offer some performance upgrades.
Toyota s…
Really, I'm just thankful we got a fifth-gen Supra at all. I never really cared that it shared so much with the BMW Z4, it's an amazing car both on and off the track.
My only complaint? The Supra has been holding its value really well.
In reply to Colin Wood :
Agreed. After taking a ride in one, I can't help but want it. And I just know the MkV Final Edition is going to hold value forever.
I want to drive one. From what I've heard it sounds like Toyota made a better BMW, with a BMW! Thanks Toyota.

An SUV that slots in at slightly larger or possibly slightly smaller than the RAV4 but at the same price point?

maybe they will do it like the germans, reduce the usefulness by raking the trunk line and call it a coupe
rav4 coupe?
I'm a little surprised that they're announcing the demise of this car without even a clear idea of what platform any potential new Supra will utilize.
Unless it's going to share something with the forthcoming Lexus GT3 GR, which really seems to be more of a way to build a racecar then hang some license plates on enough versions with roll up windows to meet homologation requirements.

My guess is that BMW pulled the rug on 'em a bit... They probably had some sort of negotiations about keeping the line running to produce them for a least 10 years up front, but current economic outlook & emissions regulations made BMW reconsider whether keeping the Z4 alive was worth it to them, and Toyota doesn't sell enough Supras to justify keeping the line open themselves.

I've heard rumors of them doing it in house for the next version. I assumed it was just the 'Its not a real supra' crowd doing their thing, but maybe there is actually some reality behind it. The Celica is supposedly coming back too. Maybe they'll share a platform?
In reply to theruleslawyer :
Getting Celica and Supra back on the same platform would bring things full circle.

Now I want someone to make a restomod Supra version of a first-gen Celica miniboss.
In reply to David S. Wallens :
My dad had a Celica (either a 3rd or a 4th gen, I can't remember), and it'd be way cool to bring that full circle.

Supposedly the VP confirmed the Celica and they were showing off a new turbo 4 that might be a good fit.
Not a lot of detail to go on yet.
