Are they trying to hint at some political connotation that I'm too dense to get? Or is it just they're looking for page views? Stuff like this happens every day and it doesn't even move the needle as far as my interest in cars go. Not trying to be a jack wagon just curious why everyone likes to point and laugh at "firsts."

I guess another reason why sites like to talk about first crashes is because some of the cars are limited production, so it can be an entertaining way to keep track of how many have been wrecked as years go by.

I wonder if the middle and rear of the chassis is straight, someone could weld a tube frame to the front of it if needed, and fix the rest.

This is why my ideal car is understated and not a lime green penis compensation device.

Beat a Hellcat in a sleeper Buick and you're a hero that people talk about for weeks. Beat a sleeper Buick in your lime green Hellcat and that's what you were expected to do and nobody cares.

Conversely, wreck a Hellcat and all the attention you wanted when you bought a lime green car comes in the form of people mocking you. Not a problem for the less ostentatious.

I had a real world experience with this. During high school, a couple buddies and I built an 80 Corolla. We had maybe 500 buck in it total, it was hideous and it was running tires we bought from Pick n Pull. It was also faster at the autocross than both an F40 and a Ford GT. I found this much funnier than they did.

I think that guys like us get a lot of pleasure from our cars when they punch out of their weight class, but at the end of the day, we go home with our Celica, and they've still got a Viper in their garage.

CANOE ALERT!As soon as I tried to look at the attachment, it asked if I wanted to buy more insurance. I thought Canoes were frowned on here.

I'd rather be a guy with v10 powered Celica.
