I bought some tickets for Saturday. I've never been to one of these big auctions before. I see the ex-Steve McQueen and Jerry Seinfeld Porsche 917 is going across at some point on Saturday.
917 Details
Awesome! These auctions are awesome if, for anything, the car watching. You can see many of the cars up close. However, you might get the sudden urge to bid on one.

Ha, we cross-shopped the Civic Si vs. the Impreza RS.
The Sentra SE-R crosses the Mecum block today. Just 739 miles from new.
Ya, you and I have discussed this in various threads. After my 91 SE-R I bought a 95 200SX SE-R and your parents also purchased one IIRC. Lost most of the magic with a slightly detuned motor and lower rpms. At work but recording Mecum, looking forward to watching it cross the block. Just 739 miles.........incredible.

Yup, the 917K is center stage.
Logged into Mecum to check what the SE-R went for (no sale at $22,000 high bid) and just out of curiosity checked the next car. a 1989 Mustang Saleen SSC. I know it's a Saleen, but OMBerkingG! Saleen Foxbody

Dang. We checked out that Saleen yesterday. It looked new.
You left out a good one. 2000 mile Supercharged AW11 MR2.
Sold for $70k.

Wait a minute. They have the actual Porsche 917 that Steve McQueen drove in the movie Le Mans, a Plymouth Superbird that actually belonged to Richard Petty, and the wildest Lamborghini Miura ever painted in lime green. That is my dream garage right there.

Great car but who saves this type car? I can't read those sites / how much it sell for?

Plus an F40 and a black 365 GTB/4, two more personal faves.
And for $30, you can check them all out.

It’s from a collection. I figured out who owns the collection and, knowing their background, I can totally see it.

Yeah, I was there watching it. Fox body prices are crazy. So are prices for 1990s trucks and SUVs, I don't get it. All the budget cars are gone, from now until the end of the auction you will need a big wallet.
80's Chevrolet Chevette at $30,000? I know it had 50 miles on it? Nuts!

This goes to show you that there is no limit to insanity. Who, in their right mind in 1987 would look at a stripper model Chevette (no hubcaps/rings, passenger mirror, 4-spd) and think "This will be a collector worth money in 38 years.

not a bad price for a ticket to a baller car show.
Is there a schedule that shows when specific cars will be crossing the stage?

Exactly. That’s been my thing: For $30, you get to see some serious concours-level cars.
In reply to Lof8 - Andy :
Mecum marks day the cars will cross the block but not the time. Figure they do about 30 cars per hour.
In reply to David S. Wallens :
Agreed, where else will you see this many cool and important cars in one place for only $30. Plus you have all the road art stuff to check out too. Its fun watching these auctions on TV but its hard to grasp the scale of the Kissimmee event without going. We walked over 4 miles on Tuesday and did not even see all the cars for sale.

If you go to the Le Mans Classic, you'd swear that car won the race. Gulf 917s everywhere, when IIRC a Gulf-livery 917 never actually won the race in real life. But it's the icon.
It is a little odd that the Shell-backed Richard Attwood/Hans Hermann 917K–the overall winner at Le Mans in 1970–isn’t nearly as popular.
