Anyone done this? I have been watching a few videos and it seems time consuming but simple enough to do properly with some patients. Specifically, I want 17 or 18" wheels for my Ranchero and all of the cheap wheels have way wrong offsets. I might try my hand at widening too but the fronts would only need to be flipped so I figured I would start there.
One of the restoration gurus on here, I think it was Jumper K. Balls but it might have been TransMaro, posted a process and pics.

Cool, I will look that over.
These are the wheels I am considering. Nothing special but better than a soft 8, imo, once flipped.

I did it years ago. Put K-car 4 bolt centers into some 7" wide GM steel wheels. I used them for autocrossing and they worked fine. You just need to carefully take them apart and have everything clamped down good to tack weld. Then finish weld and enjoy. One trick I did learn was to put two tacks 180 degrees apart and make sure the wheel was still true before adding two more tacks. Slight adjustments could be done with a 3 lb sledge.
