I managed to convince a friend of mine to buy the 5.0 Maxima listed on the board. This afternoon we flew from the Daytona area to San Antonio to get it. Robs sister picked us up, we went to interstate and got a battery then over to harbor frieght for some basic tools.
Finally got to the car. The battery was weak so we push started it. Runs great! Going to do an oil change, check the fluids and hit the road.
Plan is to leave in the morning and make it home sometime Sunday.

I am sufficiently pleased with the foot to floor action. And thr fact that this is now within driving distance should it ever come for sale again.
So this morning hasn't gone that smoothly.
Car started. Ran over to get the oil changed and the car didn't want to start after parking it. Dead battery. Changed that out and see that it's charging at 15.xx volts. Maybe a bit high.
Just a hiccup! I expect you to be on the road before your Moons Over My Hammy is ready!
So the car has a maxima alternator which would have a external voltage regulator which appears to be missing.
Hopefully not an issue.
according to rock auto the maxima should have an internal regulator, maybe you should try to find a new alternator
Grabbed a spare alternator, threw some horns on that bitch and hit the road.
The car sounds nice and the wheels look good. Should be enough to get you home.
Yes rwd maxima had the same L28 as the Z cars which had an internal IC regulator.
On the road south of Houston. At about 80mph with the ac on the temp started creeping up. Windows down with the heat on cured that. No odometer or speedometer and all the gauges are suspect but she's running well.
I'll update with mpg when we fill up.
What's the top speed?
Maybe we will try that out closer to home. 
The bathrooms are out of order at the Lousiana Texas state line on I10, don't stop there, it's nasty!
First calculated mpg was 20.2 driving 75 mph
