You'd have to do a lot of the work yourself if you ever wanted to make it more than a roller. There is a community of people who have a pretty good handle on how to convert the newer Lola chassis to use older more readily available Cosworth engines, but Reynards are pretty much ignored.

I wonder if the xtrac transaxle is included. And if so, how complete it is?

With LED technology putting lights on it in a way that would keep them discreet and making it road legal would be fun. Not sure speed bumps would be doable.

That was my first thought.

Showcar my butt. Shove a turbo 4 cylinder in the back, get some street tires, and drive it !

Isn't the motor a stressed member?

Pretty sure it was a short stroke motor with an extremely low crankshaft centerline.

It may be difficult to find something to satisfy both of those specs without rearranging the whole back half.

Something desperate about posting it on Craigslist, marketing it as a stepping stone to spending more money. The 15 is just bait.

It is a very expensive pile of hazardous waste, you probably would have to get a special permit to take it to a very special land fill.

Swmbo asked me what I would do with it, and my reply was- put lights on that E36 M3 and drive it to work.

Minor details. With a bit of time and creativity there's probably a way to mount a Subi flat four and transaxle for an amusing commuter.

There is a dirt track modified that has been made street legal in the area. It participates in car shows/parades.

There was a short article in Hot Rod magazine recently about Matt and Debbie Hay; they first got some fame back in the old Pro Street car building era of the 1980s, but today they buy and sell IndyCar chassis. It said they've come up with a way to install 1200cc Honda V4 motorcycle engines in these cars to get them back out on the track. http://www.hotrod.com/articles/indycars-pro-street-thunderbird-live-matt-hays-garage/ I looked around and couldn't find a website but they do have a Facebook page.

The $14K one looks like there are rear axles, so maybe it includes a transmission, but hard to tell.

You'll need to log in to post.
