Can't remember if Tom is a Datsun or Toyota guy.

A Datsun 1200 doesn't have the extra side seams, it's a different front grill, and the biggest giveaway is the lack of low side vents aft of the doors. There are a number of Fiat models that from a distance look a lot like 1200s as well.
And yeah, he's totally Datsun 1200 :)

I am a Datsun guy but I love those Corollas as well. The 2TC / 3TC engines are capable of a lot of power. I've actually raced an ITC Corolla and its one of favorite racing memories.
SCCA GT-Lite has some great racing.
Thanks for sharing.

You learn so much in these little cars..............plus you feel like such a complete hooligan when you drive one.
I remember watching and hearing a guy at an autocross driving a Fiat 600 (rear engine). If you didn't see him, you'd think it was an early F1 car, but turn and look, and you'd see a car driving casually around the course.
I think it was Peter Egan who wrote something like, "You can race all around town in a small-engined car and no one notices."
