My daughter has a 2017 Ford Escape Eco Boost AWD. She just had the drive belt (I used to call it the fan belt) changed at a Monroe place yesterday.
They told her they had to loosen the motor mounts to do the job. Now she says it feels like the motor is "moving" when she steps on the gas. She lives 600 miles away so I can not test drive the car. Any ideas?
You (she or someone) should be able to see it jump while running on a lift. She got a trusted mechanic?
Check that front engine mount. It does NOT have to be removed to access the belts, but who knows what they did. It's a common failure, but since it just started after the "repair" I'd suspect it's something they did.
Have her send a pic so you can see if something is obviously out of place.

Is this a national chain? Is she near a location?
This Monro?

In reply to John Welsh :
She had the work done at the Monroe in Hookset NH. She has an appointment there tomorrow morning.
Pop hood, start engine, step on brake, shift to reverse then drive then back. If motor mount is loose you can usually see the engine move right from the driver seat.

The engine moves a lot. She's taking it in tomorrow morning.
Thanks everyone for the help.
The people at Monroe told her this morning they believe it is a transmission problem. She insisted that it is an engine mount issue that they caused. We'll see what the outcome is. They are treating her like she is a female who nothing about cars.
Monroe claims there is fluid in the motor mounts. My daughter is taking the car to their Ford dealer. Does antone know if there is a recall for this?
