Formula 1-2021 Season

I do like Ricardo!!  Nothing like a winner that is genuinely excited about winning. 

First 1-2 for anyone this season, well done Mclaren

Ugh, more Max Lewis drama and finger pointing. 

Well done to McLaren! Even if the two big boys hadn't crashed out, the only reason we had a race today was because of the orange cars in the mix. 

That was Danny Rics race from the exit of turn 2 on lap 1.  He had the field covered with the lack of passing.

Fastest lap on the last lap was a nice touch, too.

Wonder if this is a turning point for McLaughlin. They looked really strong.

Ya I agree the drama is just getting old. It is not helping the sport at this point.

I think the problem is that the chicane just isn't big enough for two F1 cars. It's super-tight and at the end of the straight where you know people are going to go for it. Let's hope it gets left as a racing incident like lap 1.

I'm surprised Mercedes pitted Lewis when they did, I figured they'd let him run around in clean air for a while on the hards.

Same here, especially how Red Bull gave them so much space with that botched stop. But I guess they wanted to solidify the track position. If not for the extra second.....

I think the undercut was strong enough that it wasn't an option to leave him out.  Max didn't look like he would have got Daniel even if his stop was perfect

After watching Bagnaia and Marquez battling it out for 23 laps, it's a shame what the two best F1 Drivers show..

So what the kid who is analyzing it is saying is that if max is almost along side Lewis Lewis should back out but if Lewis is fully along side Lewis has to back out. 
 

I'm happy for Danny, Lando, Zack and the whole McLaren squad. 
 

I like Toto's comment "if it were me the race would have ended in turn 4 of lap 1" that's paraphrasing but pretty close

Is it me or is the RB team boss skirting that Max messed up. I mean he has to back Max but he does not seem to have the fire he has had in the past.

Listening to Christian not be mad, calling it a racing incident, suggests to me that he thinks it was 100% Max's fault.

I'm pretty sure Bernie wrote something into the rule book before leaving about how Max was entitled to all corners. 

So here's a thing - I've said before that it's dumb that these cars are open wheel. They'd be better in just about every way if they had full bodies like an LMP- faster, able to pass, safer. If they did, this accident wouldn't have been much more than a bit of paint trading, possibly with Hamilton parked in the gravel. And there have been full bodied F1 cars before. Let's see a REAL rule shakeup.

I still like the idea of putting them both at the back of the field. Kind of a teaching moment to both of them. 
 

You know the rental car scene in Days of Thunder?  Ya. Re do it but with Max and Lewis.  That so needs to be a meme.
