Yea, I posted that earlier today. Mostly meaning "Andretti" isn't returning to the field, but another team is.

At lap 33, so...
If Lewis would have gotten a lap yesterday, this race would have looked very much like Lewis and Nico in 2015. The Mercs are shockingly fast in the cold.
And done. What a fun race.
When I heard Las Vegas was getting a race, I was less than impressed with the idea. Oh boy, another Monaco street snooker. I was wrong.
Nice drive from Lewis. I was pretty sure he wasn't going to make it up to George, but he made it a good show.
Feel bad for Gasley, but still $0.00 in crash damage for the year.
Mclaren sure struggled in the cold. Merc loved it. Ferrari chewing tires. I find it fascinating how temperature and track surface can affect cars so differently. Everybody has the same tires...
Just saw the replay- heck of a drive for Lewis, showing that their car is amazing in the cold. Max drove as he really needed to, just staying ahead of Lando. Could have easily been himself, but he drove clean and won #4.
Nice to see George dominate the race like that.
I read this morning that George said the secret to their cars is a smooth track. I wouldn't have guessed a street circuit would be smooth but they finished 1-2
I wonder if Mercedes good pace in the cold has to do with air density affecting the aero or damper stiffness due to fluid being thicker? You would think they would have some answers on this. I loved watching Lewis come from 10th, it was a great drive and he must really be beating himself up over his Quali performance. Anyways, Max's 4th Championship was his best and I think we are in for a very exciting season next year.
I do want to hate this race for all the pomp and circumstance but it does deliver. I don't like the timing for viewing but it seems to work well for track conditions.
that was another good race. Great passing zones, cool strategy. Congrats to Max, Carlos is at the top of his game and watching Lewis get some fire in his belly was fun.
I'm excited to see Carlos at Williams next year.

For such a good race, it would be nice if the intended US audience could watch it. I'm not interested in staying up until 3am to watch the whole race. But the highlights were ok.
Was happy to have recorded it. Was able to pull it up first thing in AM and watch without having any spoilers then get on with the day.
Congrats to Max, he's been in a "worse" car but still built up enough of a lead that the others couldn't particularly pressure for the drivers championship. Looking forward to seeing how well Mclaren can finish the season along the with Ferrari and Mercedes. I'm seeing Perez will finish the season but I see them finding a replacement somewhere for next year.

My thoughts exactly.

I turned on F1 tv as soon as I woke up and did the same. No spoilers no sleepy morning from staying up 🙂
M4X!!!
They really need to replace Checo. He did his job last year when the car was better but this year has been atrocious.
BREAKING: New Cadillac entry provisionally confirmed as 11th team in major F1 2026 shake-up No mentioned of Andretti, they really did hate him. Maybe the new movie by Brad Pitt (Driven 2) will shed some light on that

Mario Andretti is on the board, but its a bad look that it seems like it was a personal spat preventing their entry
I still look at the results, but haven't watched a race since the 21 fiasco/fraud that stole the 8th from Hamilton. Since then, F1 really has become a version of WWE. Portions of the Balestre era, especially the Senna DQ in Suzuka, were disgusting, but this current era is so much worse. They really should just write off this era as a mistake and start fresh in 26.

I don't know that it's Mario they dislike all that much.
When Michael recently stepped aside as the head of Andretti Autosport, I think the pathway was cleared.

You're missing out. The second half of this year (ever since the Red Bull braking tweak was outlawed) has been pretty solid.

Quoted for truth, The second half of 2024 has been great. So many questions about this tweak that were never explained and will never be answered.

that's what I meant, that it seemed like personal disagreements with michael were the main reason for the snub

IMHO, there's no real point in trying to convince someone they are incorrect. Especially when you compare an odd DQ to benefit a specific driver to the rulings that have been going on since the end of the '21 season. That sucked really bad, but since then it's been more that RBR just figured the formula out better than anyone else- which sucks as much for Mercedes fans as it did for RBR fans when Mercedes dominated the original hybrid era. Not sure where the comparison came from, since they were totally different. As much as I found fault for the end of the '21 season, I think it was more a NASCAR "can't end under yellow" thinking than seeing how it ended up a biased result.
In reply to Keith Tanner :
No, I'm not. I don't enjoy WWE as it's a fraud, not a sport. Same goes for F1, currently. F1 and the FIA did just enough to try and cover their collective asses. Didn't work for me.

So given GM's lack of sales in Europe, it's pretty clear that the issue with "Andretti" was Mike all along.

I know I shouldn't ask, but how is F1 a fraud sport now? Not the one race in 2021, but since then, and how does it change for 2026?
