Random F1 question. Anyone know anything about the little pneumatic powered tube fans they use to keep drivers cool while in the garage? I mean, I assume it's just a fan, but pneumatic power seems inefficient. Electric would make more sense. Unless it's a small vortex tube, which would be neat.

I really like the way this season is going. Nico seems to be the one driver that has been lucky and good in all the races so far. Luck eventually runs out. Hamilton will eventually win a few. Ferraris look very strong. If the red cars can't win some before the season is over, I'll be very surprised. No points for Haas this weekend. Oh well. Can't expect a rookie season to be without its bumps and bruises.

Frustrated my DVR didn't record it last night.

Watching the highlights. Looks like Daniil didn't do much wrong, just an aggressive pass.

Vettel did lots of explaining to everyone to what was actually a perfect pass by Daniil whom held his line tight to the curbing, the problem was between the two red cars end of discussion.

Was looking forward to a stonking drive by Hammy to get to the podium, other than one brilliant pass it was pretty ho hum.

I bet once Seb sees the replay, he will shut up. That was a completely fine move.

Didn't watch the race, just saw Vettel's pit entry pass - brilliant. Maybe the best pass I've seen in the last few years.

Seb did shut up after he saw the replay.

And I love the fact that Hulk got a penalty for, effectively, dawdling in the pit entry. That was some chaos.

I used to give Vettel a lot of flak about only being able to win from the front. No more. That was quite a charge he put on today.

You also have to commend him for manning up after seeing the replay and backing down on calling Kyviat's move one turn one a suicide torpedo move. Not everyone would have done that.

I think Vettel was upset, because they lost a opportunity on winning the race. Given Mercedes's pace, there may be very few opportunities, unless that have some reliability issue. Add to the equation that both Kimi and Vettel screwed up their qualifying laps.

Agreed. He's far more mature than he was in the Red Bull era.

I actually really like that windscreen idea. Looks like a giant helmet visor, or the F1 car from Cars 2.

I wish they'd stop screwing around. Either do nothing, leave the cars as they are or go ahead and do this. Still very much F1, but provides real, actual protection.

^That actually looks pretty damn awesome!

I dig the low profile tires.

They also need to give them back more fuel and let them crank up the boost. These cars should be north of 1000hp.
