Could someone with an '89. or older Fox Mustang take a couple of measurements for me? I need to know the distance between the tops of the front shocks and the distance from the same points back to the firewall. I've found lots of body measurement diagrams on line ,but they don't really show those dimensions . Thanks

After seeing Fairmonts and Zephyrs with Mustang front clips I'd believe the measurements are the same.

37 3/4 center to center of the strut top bolts. exactly 12 inches from top to firewall passenger side, drivers side appears to be the same (had to move the tape out a bit to clear the wiper motor mount on d/s).

But, the distance between the tops of the struts varies depending on camber adjustment. On a stock car, that can be as much as 3" per side.

yeah i couldnt get an accurate measurement of the center of the strut hole by myself without using the bolts. the struts are out of my parts car but the left tower is rusty (maybe bent) and im not sure how accurate that would be.

The camber plates on my Challenge car can accommodate 34.5 - 38.5, so it looks like Fox body suspension might work. The 12" to the firewall is about 4" more than I've got so some setback is going to be needed if I go this way.
Thanks,dropstep.

I just measured the shock towers and distance from firewall on my '88 LX 5.0L.

I've got 37 3/4" from the centres of the the top of the struts in the engine bay. From there to the firewall is 11 1/2". Hope this helps.
