A person local to me had a free 1997 Miata dash listed on FBM.  I thought to myself "self you need that for your 1995 M".  The dash pad itself is worse than mine, but I sent a request to Just Dashes for a quote to see what it would cost to fix that.  While waiting for the quote I figurred that I can fix the floppy vents in the new to me dash to install in my dash.  And I can save various switches that are hopefully the same also.  But I thought the real prize was the fact that the 1997 dash has an uncut radio harness.  And maybe, just maybe I could swap out the dash harness to lose the mess that is behind the radio in my 1995.   While congratulating myself for a well though out and free plan (cue Flounder saying "this is going to be good!") I realized that the 1997 harness has an OBDII plug on it and my 1995 is an OBD1.   Curses, foiled again!

Just Dashes will charge you about 2 grand to restore a dash pad. Which is why the one in my '66 Falcon still looks like crap.

Wow.  I just might have to do a re-thought here.  They have not got back to me yet, and now you have me scared.
