You can download a FREE legit fully functioning AutoDesk AutoCAD. Link might be dead or changed, but I've been sending my students to http://students.autodesk.com
AutoCAD is pretty much industry standard.
Also download and experiment with Inventor, it's super cool.

Couldn't agree more, Autocad is a dinosaur anyways these days.

I use Draftsight as well - I drew most of DIYAutoTune's 2D designs (trigger wheels and case endplates) with it, as well as blueprints for the wiring harnesses. It's almost exactly like AutoCad, although I wish there was a way to put the command window in the main window like in AutoCad and make it always open when the program opens.
