Breaking out from the truck thread. I am need of a somewhat flexible rubber section for my fuel filler to slip over 2 1/4" exhaust tubing. Something on the order of a foot long. What I have found thus far is crappy clear tubing which is probably far too weak, or super expensive Goodyear or Dayco stuff mail order for $30 per foot. Does anyone here have any leads?
I was able to source a 1 foot long section of fuel rated hose, with wire reinforcement from McMaster. I needed about 4 inches of the material. I will check to see if it is 2.25 ID. If it is the rest can be yours...

napa has gates stuff. about 30 a foot though. part #1055
I went through that when I was installing a Suburban tank in a PU chassis.
Went thru the PnP. Our local yard pulls all the tanks and piles 'em up, most w/ hoses attached. No need tramping all over, they were all in one place.
I'll check the scraps at work. We sell the Gates stuff every day.

I had to do the same thing with my '96 4runner when it started leaking. I found a universal hose at NAPA for $18 that just need a little trimming. I did put two hose clamps on the "pressure" end at the fuel tank just to feel safer with it.

Finally got the 1055 from NAPA. Not too bad of a price at just under $23. Now... I need it to bend just a bit, and it won't. Does anyone sell just the wire coil spring for the ID of a 2.25" hose?
Mopar lower radiator hose spring should work. If I get to the salvage yard this weekend ill snag you one.

I had a thought that may dissuade you, Michael, I really ought to get something stainless...
I've never seen them rust, but I don't think they are stainless.

They wouldn't rust when emerged in coolant, but they would definitely rust when gas flows over them every week or two and get dry the rest of the time.

So it's either $45 to buy one stainless steel spring, or I redesign my fuel filler... again. I essentially need an S bend made out of something-pliable-and-fuel-safe, 2.25" ID. Ideas? Anything less than $45 is a winner.

Steel pipe s-bend with rubber connectors at each end?

I can't really do that because I need the support of a one piece steel section (meaning, no rubber between the tank and the neck joints).
I actually think I may have a better idea: Remove the bed to install/remove the fuel filler neck.
