We were invited to a fundraiser at Darlington speedway. To say we were treated like royalty would be putting mildly. I was on the track with some cool history, and what can I say other than I was in heaven!

That's cool. I see that is your car from the (abridged) build thread. smiley

I'd love to see more on the build of this car and hear about driving at Darlington. Did they turn you loose to go as you pleased or was it parade lap style? Are you proximal to Darlington or did you take this car a long way to get there? If you aren't local I hope you got some road side boiled peanuts and avoided the cops in Society Hill!

Two or three times a year, the track does a fund raiser for different charities.  $20 for 3 laps on the track, usually you run a few more.  It's lead / follow, but you have to do close to 70 to stay on the banking.  Last year they did a $30 event, and included two general admission tickets to the Xfinity race.  It was pretty interesting, the banking looks a lot steeper from pit road.  Worth the money.

In reply to NY Nick :

They did pretty much turn us loose. Our group brought a sizable donation. :) I live in Daytona, but born and raised in SC. We had a great time... didn't sample the peanuts this trip.
