What did y'all do last night??? Sleep?
If you plan another weekend, let me know. I'll try to make the drive to help out.

Man we had to drop the engine and subframe out many times. We were having a hard time getting everything lined up. Ended up having to cut out the middle of the subframe and fab a new front crossmember for it and add a rear brace. Firewall also had to move a couple inches back to accommodate the exhaust amongst a few other modifications. But the engine is finally in its final position. We were all a little tired this morning.

Keith has been texting me every couple of hours, so I know some of what you've been fighting. Keep up the great work. It's looking good.
assuming it will stay with Steve after y'all head back to FL ?
if so maybe as I regain strength I can get out there, and with proper directing, help in a limited way ... not all that much of wrench, when things down to this level ... LOL
I'm more of put new stuff on in the place of old stuff .. ... again that's assuming it'll stay up here for a while, and I don't drive Steve totally nuts
Well after many long hours, when I left Ashville heading back to Charleston the car had a complete engine, driveshaft, and rearend fab complete. I think Tom and Ed are thinking of finishing the wiring etc down at HQ area. I can't wait to see this thing run again. It was fun (learned a few tricks from Steve) and great working with Tom, Ed, and Steve
Tom and Ed are back home after a banzai run last night back to GRM HQ. They'll be posting up the next steps of the plan once they catch their breath (and a few zzzzzz's).

Okay, here's an update.
The Miata's sitting in Asheville, with the drivetrain firmly mounted and the hard part done. But, it's still only half-finished.
We've been working behind the scenes to make our next trip up there a success. One thing we've been missing: parts. Curmudgeon had collected most of what we needed to build the car, but there were still a few glaring issues.
I'd like to give a big shoutout to Turn 14 Distribution, who've kindly offered a set of Bilstein shocks and Eibach lowering springs. These should give the Miata handling chops to match its newfound power.
I'd also like to thank Hard Dog Fabrication. They're sending a Hard Dog roll bar for the car, so its next owner will be able to enter it in the hillclimbs that Curmudgeon was planning on running.
We're still working on other parts, and once we know a little more, we'll set a firm date for our return to Asheville. We're looking at late March at this point.
If anybody would like to thank Hard Dog, tom@bethania-garage.com is the address to use. I'm sure a few thank you notes would be appreciated–I know we're certainly sending one.
Thanks for the update Tom. If you nail down a date, let me know and I'll try to get up there to lend a extra pair of hands.
Hats off to motorsports marketing for putting a clinic together on customer experience and engagement. Great job here.
This weekend, we're finishing the car. We could really, really use some additional help.
