I picked up a set of Hankook RS-2's for $50/tire (225/45/16) from Tirerack back in the fall. Great wet and dry street tires, tho' not so great in 12 inches of fresh snow.

Just curious, what driver/class?...

Paul, you're mis-reading. In the last tire test the Falken was barely behind the 2x more expensive tires with Andy Hollis in his Nationals-winning ST Civic. Put the same tires on a local car with a local tire and there's no difference.

The folks at Falken are out of their mind if they think we are going to pay what they're asking for the 615-K.

$134 for the 205/50/15 is ridiculous.

Slightly better pre-order prices on the -K at vulcantire.com -- $106 for the 205/50/15.

I wonder just how fast the K will be. If it blows the RE11 and Star Spec out of the water then they will get that kind of crazy money for it.

When falken comes out with a new tire they always seem to start the price high. When the 615 came out it was a lot more expensive than the 215 it replaced but now it is cheap.

$87 for the 615K in a 195/60r14... thats about $8 more than I was quoted here locally for the older version

I really wish someone made this....

Yep. That's what i need. Hard to find anything decent in a 24" tire on 16s.

If you can drive like Andy Hollis then yes, the old RT615's can be somewhat close. But for those of us with mere mortal driving skills then all of the newer tires are easier to drive fast.

I was at the Dixie National tour last weekend and out of the 67 ST_ class drivers not one of them ran Azenis. That should tell you somthing.

With the Dunlops now available in more 14" and 15" sizes I see no reason to buy the RT615's anymore. We'll have to see how the new compound does.

does Falken pay contingency money... if not then that would be a pretty good reason you don't see any at the National Tour events

AC, don't quote the links, that's what they want. If the links stay, google will up the rankings. I think.

I need tires for the Esprit and they don't have these Falkens in the sizes I need. Dang.

On y'all's advice, I went with the Yoko s-Drives for the Rolla. Put them on last weekend, just in time for the snow tomorrow night. Whatever. Anyway, I took the Rolla to work yesterday and those s-Drives are a good tire. A more grip than the worn out Falkens I had on before, and, of course, more grip than the snow tires in the dry.

Just bought a set from Discount Tire Direct.
