Yes, I agree with that choice, obviously:
However, it looks like the editing of the subsequent text might have been a bit overzealous. The 0-60 time of 8.7 seconds and base price of $7500 quoted for the Turbo actually belonged to the non-turbo GLH. The Turbo was about $9500 and did 0-60 in 7.5 seconds.
They were, for the day. The GLH Turbo was the fastest car in Dodge's fleet of 1985. There were several autocrosses that I had the fastest stock time that year, besting even the A Stock cars. In impromptu street stoplight drags, I outran things such as Camaros and Porsche 928's.
Yeah it's funny how "fast" keeps shifting. I remember an article in either GRM or R&T where a Honda Odyssey minivan was run against a couple "sports cars" of their day and trounced them...
Nothing remarkable about 146hp through an auto trans. The turbos were suppose to be an economical alternative to a v6

I know of a few Turbo Caravans running in the 12s and 13s with stock heads and bottom ends. What I would do for a turbo Caravan.
2K4Kcsq wrote: since we are talking about the GLH, what did the turbo caravans of the era run back then??
I wish I could find it, I had saved a magazine add for the minivan, it was black with a black turbo van with just the parking lights on and it said "7 passengers, 0-60 in 9 seconds" or something to that effect.

New grm has a "12 game changers" article.
In reply to Moparman: yeah, I thought the same thing.
In reply to Chandler: Oh, that 'splains it. I usually get mine a week after you guys are done discussing the cool articles

Actually it was because there was a shortage of the Mitsu V6, so Chrysler slammed the 2.5 turbo in the caravan to make up the difference until production could catch up.
I know there are manual trans, caravan turbos around. . . factory built?? or just some guy with a garage and insight?? those ought to run a little closer to the omni i bet. lol
I remember when my friends and i were becoming of driving age, my buddy had an 88 ranger 2wd that we all thought to be a hot rod mini truck. . . till we had our asses handed too us one night by a turbo caravan. . . . it was hilarious, the passenger in the van kept yelling "GOT TURBO!!"
I have a copy of Road and Track magazine, Nov. 1958. Really interesting to see how things have developed. MG-A Twin Cam. 1588cc. 108hp. 0-60 9.9 sec. top speed 113mph. curb weight 2200 lbs.

This one is a factory 5spd turbo van...
running "unofficially timed" low to mid 14's at the moment.. and still used as a work vehicle... Returns low/nearly mid 20's MPG's loaded...

They are still fast. My GLHS still shows its tail lights to the vast majority of today's so-called pocket rockets.
