I just thought I should tell you guys that I finally get to help build a ChumpCar and possibly race it My dad's friend bought a Miata, and we're going to be getting it ready for Daytona in May. It's one of the things that I've always wanted to do

Congratulations! Chump is a blast. Ran one race(Sebring last year) and decided to build my own. A miata as well. Have put together a good team of drivers and as long as the car is reliable we should be competitive most of the time. Seeing the trophies they give out sealed the deal for me to build my own. Have fun getting the AIV where it needs to be, I'm close but need a couple more ads.
Thanks for the info, my dad's friend is the owner so anything that happens with it has to go through him. So right now we're making a list of everything it needs. It's got a full cage already.
We should be there in one of the V8 RX-7's.
Take a look at the rules. I believe they are requiring prior races with Chump before being able to run Daytona.
Same way as any other Lemon's/Chumpcar Team. Lying and cheating.
In reality we bought it non running for $500. Had no interior, it needed the brakes redone, a fuel pump, tires etc. It also has a wrinkled subframe and had a couple other hits. Pretty ugly but the motor and trans were sound. Bought the cage (bolt in) for $500 and race seat for $200.
We had less than $2000 in the car before the first race. Probably spend that again getting it ready for the second race. (Larger Brakes, Race Pads, Rims, Tires etc.)
