What's the best way to get sap off a car? My wife parked under our pine and ended up with a ton of sap on the paint. Her car is a 2018 so the paint is still in perfect shape and we're trying to keep it that way. We tried this stuff in the photo below and it doesn't seem to be doing the trick.
Trick I learned here is hand sanitizer. Seems to work pretty well if you let it sit for a few minutes.
I used meguiers (Sp?) gold soap and water in a spray bottle and then wiped it down with a microfiber cloth. That was after trying big and tar remover with no success. This was a couple weeks ago after camping and having my truck, my car and my camper covered.
They all looked awful afterwards because it smeared all the dirt all over but it took the sap off and then I hit the car wash, looked A1.

I have used Kroil.
Dab it on and let it soften the sap.
Then gently wipe it off.
Wash and wax with your favorite products afterwards.

Yup. And turn the rag frequently.
Ive used isopropyl alcohol with success for a few years. I assume it strips off any wax from the paint so I always follow with cleaning and wax
It recently worked to clear a ton of sap off our challenge car
+1 for hand sanitizer gel.
Hand sanitizer works due to the alcohol. Lens wipes work too, due to the alcohol.
if the sap has been on there a while, it will raise the paint where it was sitting. Dont keep scrubbing trying to get it flat, you'll take the laint off.
other solvents work too, thinner, acetone, whatever, but you have a much greater chance of messing up the paint. i detailed professionally for years, its how it was done.

How long is "a while?" The sap has been on her paint for a few weeks now.

If the sap has yellowed and hardened, its probably raised the paint. Its not horribly noticeable, but you can see it if you are looking for it. Hit it with alcohol on a rag, keep turning the rag to a clean spot as the dissolved sap will re-deposit as you push it around.
