A 32/36 is small on a 2.8 liter even if it only revs to 4500, but it will probably give the least drivability issues right out of the box. If you're willing to maybe have to mess with the carb a bit, i think the bigger ones will give better end results afterwards.

2013 & up Camaros, CTS and a couple others I believe have the LFX. EDIT: someone already answered it better.

67LS1, my 67 El Camino with a 1994 LT1 only weighted 102 lbs more than your car. It was 3362 lbs with heavy Soft 8 wheels that I had my R-comps on. It had a little bit more weight on the rear than yours, but I can't remember the numbers.

According to the base weights on GM Heritage site a 66 el Camino was 20 lbs heavier than a 66 Chevelle hardtop. 67 probably wasn't far off. I assume equipment specified would change that up or down.

I did go with 4 wheel discs, large front and rear sway bars, tubular control arms, and a whole lot of Dynamat. I'll bet if I had been more anal about it I could have easily broke the 3k barrier.

The LFX V6 is pretty light but the 6L50 trans is huge and heavy. I'm also running catalytic converters.

I made a max MPG run from a gas station near my shop on a loop of about 75 miles back to the same station.

Driving  like there was an egg on the gas pedal and on the highway 95% of the time I got 39 mpg. Still averaging just over 30 on normal everyday driving.

I probably need someone with an HP Tuner to adjust the trans shifting because between 60-65 mph the trans hunts some between 5th and 6th. Super annoying.

Ikno this thread is old but just seen your post and noticed you mentioned putting a 3400 into a rx7. I had just got an rx8 shell and i have a impala with a lx9 3500 that someone t-boned me in a hit and run so the engine is still good and was thinking of putting that into the rx8 is there any tips you can give to make the RWD conversion and what wiring harness and ecu did you use just basic info.

I also did a 3400 swap. In a miata

Lx9 is vvt or non vvt?

Non vvt: i used sinister performance who hacked the 03 malibu ecm for me. Used a 2.2 s10 flywheel and clutch, 3800 camaro five speed. Had to fab accessories, headers, notch the oil pan, and flip the upper intake while deleting the egr.

Thanks.  I need to update that thread....

It really depends on what your intent is.  If it is racecar, it's fairly straight forward.  If it is nice streetcar, it's a totally different animal!

I'm going for nice streetcar with ac and all the bells and whistles.

If you have specific questions, feel free to ask in the linked thread so we keep all the info in 1 place.

Thanks!
