On top of the amount of people keeping older cars and being willing to lay out money to keep them operational

I bought a brand new truck so I would have one vehicle I could depend on when the 20 year old MINI and the 24 year old Miata go down. Hasn't worked out that way so far.
Surely there is someone here close enough who could Jack it up and throw a clamp on it???
Where are you located???

SE Michigan, Dexter.......but I got an appointment at a dealer in the next town west of here Friday morning. My son's FIL suggested I try there and it worked.

Fixed it for you.
Seriously, I left a PE firm a year ago and gave my 2 week notice to a branch manager on his first day of employment. Twelve months later he gives his notice. I call and ask what the deal was. Why you leaving?
No resources he said. They expect me to grow sales but I get no extra resources. No more people- use the folks you have and have them step up.
These companies are a hot mess.

My wife's Honda takes 3 weeks To get a simple repair, same with my Ford Pickup.
It's simple as we Baby boomers retire the next generation is 400,000 smaller. By the time the last of us retire it will be up to 900,000 people short.
We used to solve labor shortages with immigration but fear mongers have shut that door.
So we learn to wait.
