I never see these for sale, at least not locally, and as sparatically as I look it's probably not that surprising. Anyhoo, I thought this looked pretty danged cheap and was wondering if this was the going rate, or if this really was cheap?

It is very straight . Runs and drives great..it gets 30 to 34 mpg !!. It has new brakes, clutch, interior, tires, and more. Its a 1600 engine with a 4 speed trans., clean Wa. title and tabs, a real nice car. $5000. cash, FIRM Open to offers of part trade.. lets talk.. Located in Colville, Wa.
Personally I've always dreamed of one in BRG
Amazing!
I thought they were more expensive than this for some reason.
Thanks.
I have nothing specifically Datsun related to add here, but I can say that if that car has been in Eastern Washington for its whole life its probably not even slightly rusty.
My Mom lives in Spokane, and I go out there to do projects on her farm. I find stuff that looks like nineteenth century farm implements and model T parts in the ground all the time barely rusted. I also see all kinds of old cars with hardcore patina still running.
Remember that video of the VW transporter being dug out of the ground with little rust? That was in northern Idaho, probably less than 50 miles from this car.
Small world!
I used to live in Grand Coulee (near where this car is) before we moved to Davenport (near Spokane).
And you aint kidding about the lack of rust there.
1500: I can honestly say I don't know what I don't know about the Datsun roadsters, but I DO know I like em
Not much for the top on this one though...
Get it! These cars are fantastic, and that seems like a great price for a solid driver. You'll be ready for some top-down driving in the spring!

I had a '69 2000. Lots of fun to drive, zero fun to work on. That was one of those (two) times that I got so pissed that I threw the exhaust manifold across the yard. Seems Datsun hadn't yet learned about maintainability. That is, try to remove the exhaust header, and it hits the starter. Try to remove the starter and it hits the exhaust... repeat until angry. I'll sit down now.
Oh, and in the mid-80s, there was a car dealer in San Diego (Balboa Nissan?) that had bought up all of Datsun's NOS parts for the roadsters. I have no idea if they still have any.
