Anybody have recommendations for good Volvo forums?

I signed up at volvoforums.com, but the pace of posting is glacial (seriously, there are posts dating from 2018 on the first page of most boards), and actual knowledgeable people seem thin on the ground over there.

I'm spoiled by this place - is there something approximating the GRM experience, but specifically for Volvos?  Thanks.

volvospeed.com and matthewsvolvosite.com are the ones I know of for more modern Volvos.

Turbobricks seems to still be active.

For P80+ stuff Evan's spot on.  I haven't been active on volvospeed in years, have occasionally searched for info there, but I really loathe the group think that went on there.  Maybe, hopefully it's better, but 8-ish years ago, it was like a junior high clique.

Matthew's was great for maintenance and problem solving/repairs, not so much performance.  I've got some 850 stuff that made it into the stickies there back in the day, I assume they're still there, and it's still good site.  I haven't been on there in years too.  I got a little miffed at them when they started requiring you to have a log in to see uploaded pictures, really ruins it for the casual Googler trying to figure something out.

For RWD stuff Turbobricks is a treasure trove of info, but most of the fun folks have been banned and are all on the FB pages now.

Between GRM & Pirate4x4, I don't go wanting for much forum info, that I can't otherwise just Google.

Or post your questions here. There's quite a bit of vovlo knowledge here.

I find swedespeed.com the most active for P1800 owners.

Same for R owners... the other subforums seem to be dead.

Do not ever go to 30forty50 or whatever that site is...  Serious malware vector.

Back when I had a turbo brick I'd hang out on turbobricks some.  But dang, that was a while ago.  Sold that car before we bought the 2005 MPV in 2005.

We found matthew's pretty good back when my ex- had her 850 wagon.  After she bought the car, my first task was to remove all of the previous owner's attempts at performance mods, so maintenance and repair info was our main concern.

I would imagine Turbobricks is still ok for older RWD cars.

The ancient Yahoo Groups 1800list is still the best for 1800 information.

The 1800list is the only one I'm still involved with.  It's full of old crusties who barely use email, much less Facebook or other forums.  But the knowledge base for the 1800 is still very good and users are forgiving of repeat questions and noobs in general.

Otherwise, it seems Facebook groups have decimated a lot of traditional car forums.

No input on the forum recommendation but I did see you cruising through Newark yesterday duke. Stunning vehicle!

Sweedespeed has been good but not as productive as this forum for solving my P1800 questions. They only get a few post a week anymore. Besides having a critical mass of Volvo fans on-board, it is hard to beat the sheer volume and variety of general car knowledge available on this forum.

Why, thank you!  Where were you and what were you driving?  Assuming you were driving?

I forget you're local-ish.  But ask poor flynlow, I'm terrible about getting together with local folks.

My parents live in Newark, closer to Hockessin than downtown Newark. Small world.

Delaware sure as heck is.  What part of Hockessin, without getting too specific?

Are your parents car enthusiasts?  A lot of our BMC members come from this general area.

You guys should drop in some time!
