Thanks Doc!
I'll see if that '85 stuff is analogous enough to the '83 to help me out. It's certainly better than what I have now...Much appreciated!
The 20R (that has presumably been swapped in there) has an electric fuel pump. While driving this thing home, coming around the last corner, the battery slid off it's tray (of course there's no hold down...c'mon!) and probably pulled a wire loose or something. Now, at the very least, I have no fuel pump or starter circuit action (and I figure likely no ignition either). Problem is, the wiring has been hacked pretty good (think wire nuts and electrical tape and stranded wire pushed into connectors and such). So...I have to figure out what all has been hacked so I can rehack and/or fix it right (eventually the latter, for sure).
Thanks!

Works here, FT. I dunno.
I had to left click the link, let it download (looked like a gas pump indicator rolling along) and then save it...
But yeah, I'm looking at it now.

I need to revisit this one.
I haven't been able to come up with a wiring diagram to help me sort out the mess that I have...so it's time to make my own mess.
Can anyone tell me how to wire the ignition on a toyota...simply? I think I might just slowly rewire this thing with a fuseblock and a big roll of red wire .
I can wire a starter and the fuel pump...can probably figure out the headlights and turn signals. But I want to get it to fire up and move under its own power...so I need to know how to wire the coil/igniter thing.
Thanks,
Clem
nice little Yota... I recently found an old isuzu pickup.. RIGHT after I bought my saab. One old car that needs some care at a time..
I sold this one. Needed to come up with some cash for other reasons. I haven't missed it in the week since I sold it ;).
