So my buddy need this gone as he moved and people kept flaking on him when he listed it. So I got it for free. Title is in a deceased guys name, car is super rusty from the trim line down. It’s complete and engine turns free.
I have just shy of 10 acres and a want to be homestead thing going so Plans are yard art, chicken coup, or cut it up for wall art or something for my son. I have to many auto projects to even consider trying to get this thing road worthy.
If any one here needs parts let me know. I’m in SE Pa just outside of Reading.
ill get pictures up once I figure out how.
Aww man those are really cool... shame about it's future, but if it's as rusty as you say, understandable.

That's cool. It needs a midengine 1.8T VW.
The floors, rockers, a b c post where the doors mount/latch, unibody subframe boxes are all rusty and look to have previous badly done repairs and that’s just from the 10 minutes I walked around looking at it.
It would be a great parts car or a intense resto or rebody job. But I have 3 daily’s that need repairs and 3 project cars in line before this and no garage.
If some one wants it from here they can have it but I’ll post pictures this weekend if the rust.
Haha, I was just looking at This one in VA on craigslist this morning.

Kid included or is that extra?
I wonder if tSoG needs that engine. He's a PA too.

Where's the rust? I see ten year old cars that look way worse than that.

There is a guy who hill climbed one of those at Duryea. Maybe he's still around and would want it. Check with the PHA web site or FB page.
I recognized the '67 from my youth, but that '59 has a lot more character!

I was thinking the same thing. Message him or put it on the LeMons forum?
Just for future reference, this is what rusty means to many of us:
I would have titled the thread, "I got a free, rust free Simca."
I don't really see the rust either, but you know how some old cars rust from the inside out, sometimes the paint is the only thing holding the car together.
The paint is hiding the chicken wire , cardboard and Bondo !
Hill climbing Simca. Mind you I took the photo in 1971. Driver Ed Stinsman, a Simca dealer who was in his 70s at the time. His son John still hillclimbs a VanDieman.
In my opinion it is way too cool and rare of a car to relegate to yard art status, but I am too far away to negotiate purchasing it from you, so do with it what you will.
Small rear engine cars are my kryptonite. Particularly sedans.
Yes I know what rust looks like as I’ve spent over 30 years on my life in PA. It seems older cars here look decent until you check the floors, rockers, and frames.
I went a do another walk around of the car , the doors and bonnets seem pretty solid. But like I said the actual uni-body structure is rotted and has numerous old bondo repairs. The rockers and the door posts are so rusty they are separating from the other panels. You can buy a solid runner for 3-5k still so in my opinion this is a parts car at best but if some one wants it it’s free.
