Is it just me or does the Rolex winning Mercedes in GTD Pro remind you of the Panoz Esperante?

Bullish handling, shape (ish) and engine sound.

They're as different from each other as they are alike.

If it were the only front engine/rwd GTD out there the comparo would be cool; but, the Aston is also out there. Panoz was a boutique manufacturer that was on the fringe in terms of design language and mantra. They pushed the envelope in the opposite direction of their competition, which had way deeper pockets. Mercedes is a megacorp and won't win over the hearts quite like Panoz did with their Cinderella story.

Regardless of the pedigree I'm a big fan of the profile/layout.

I'd agree with that. A few years back, Audi was big on its GT3 customer program. Looks like Mercedes-AMG is following in those footsteps.
